Every incoming Freshmen student must satisfy the Entry Level Writing Requirement, otherwise known as ELWR. 

Fact:  If you did not satisfy ELWR by passing the Analytical Writing Placement Exam, then the requirement must be met by passing ENGL 4 or 5 with a grade of “C” or higher.

Fact: A student has three consecutively enrolled quarters at UCR to take ENGL 4 or 5 to satisfy ELWR.
